[Recipe for aromatic jasmine rice]
A fragrant, slightly sweet rice variety that goes perfectly with Asian-inspired dishes.

Servings: 4 | Preparation time: 5 minutes | Cooking time: 15–20 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup jasmine rice

  • 1.5 cups water (or broth for extra flavor)

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 1 tsp butter or coconut oil (optional, for more flavor)

Optional flavor enhancers:
  • 1 Pandan leaf (for authentic flavor)

  • 1 Lemongrass stems (lightly crushed)

  • 1 Star anise (for a subtle licorice note)

Preparation:

  1. rice in a fine-mesh sieve until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.

  2. In a pot, mix rice, water, salt and optional spices.

  3. Bring to a boil , then reduce heat, cover and Simmer for 15 minutes .

  4. Turn off heat and covered 5-10 minutes let it steam (do not look inside!).

  5. With a fork and serve.
